We provide indispensable music resources for the music profession and the public. Our members are highly regarded professionals not only in Pinellas County but also at state and national levels.

Composer of the Year

Leonard Bernstein (100th Anniversary of his Birth)
Leonard Bernstein (1918-1990) is widely known as an American composer, conductor, lecturer and pianist.  One of the first US conductors to receive worldwide acclaim, he served as long-time conductor of the New York Philharmonic (1957-1969 formally, and regularly through the rest of his life). Some of his best-known works are the Broadway musicals West Side Story, On the Waterfront, Candide, and his setting of the Mass. He wrote several piano works throughout his career, and often appeared as piano soloist/conductor in various concertos with orchestra.  ​​(continue reading)
